“Sneakers”, “Ice-Cream”, “Tattoos” (2019) The World According to Jeff Goldblum S1E1,2,3
World According To Bekkah:
I love this show. Some people love Queer Eye. I do not. But I think that the joy that I get from The World According to Jeff Goldblum is the joy that others get from Queer Eye. So I am glad that both of these shows exist so we can all have our joy! Jeff talking about sneakers, Jeff eating so much ice cream, Jeff giving someone a tattoo?! I love it all. The show does a lovely job of including people from a wide range of backgrounds and Jeff is always charming towards everyone. He is full of wholesome masculinity and I would just watch an episode of Jeff kindly hugging other men, tbh. ALSO HOW AM I JUST LEARNING THAT JEFF GOLDBLUM DAY IS A THING?! See you all in Pittsburgh on July 13!
World According to Danya:
Why are we watching anything but this show?! We should watch this over and over again. It is purest Jeff in an undistilled form. I want to just inject all of it’s charismatic weirdness in my veins. Jeff tells us about extremely expensive sneakers, cricket ice cream, and native Hawaiian tattoos, only some of which I am actually interested in. Highlights include the sneaker lab that can read Jeff’s emotions, and Jeff making daisy chains and “gamboling and frolicking” in a literal field of flowers, then doing a mean Julia Roberts impression on a bench. Jeff’s masculinity is close to my favorite masculinity (only preceded by Patrick Stewart). When the world is bad, Jeff is not, and that makes all the difference.
