Wicked (2024)

Bekkah:

I was honestly so devastated to not get to see this one in theaters. We've watched a lot of the Jeff Back Catalogue and hoo-boy was I looking forward to a new movie! This would have been a delight to see on a gigantic screen with a big thingy of super buttery popcorn, but I'll take the cards I'm dealt... which were not going to allow me to see this on the big screen. This movie was beautiful! Like truly so fun to watch the lushness and the incredible choreography. The singing was top notch, but the songs are kinda mid?? Sorry, stans. Not enough Jeff, for sure, but he was an absolute delight, as was Michelle Yeoh. I think Jeff loves playing villains now and I also love this for him! Also, it's always a good time to watch a movie that's warning about impending fascism.

Danya:

I haven’t read the book or seen the show so I was going into Wicked basically like a blind date. Colors! Songs! Magic! Obviously the two mains were incredible. I love that they are obsessed with each other in real life. Down with animal abuse. Up with Jeff being so so charming if slightly evil.
