“Gods & Insects” (2010) Law & Order: Criminal Intent S9E5

Bekkah:

So we are revisiting Law & Order: Criminal Intent after many months of a break. Too many cop shows and you need a break. This show continues to be one of the lesser Law & Orders. It’s like, fine? We figured out pretty quickly that the murderer was actually the Angry Fortune 500-er, which is like… not surprising! Sometimes it’s nice to be able to figure out what’s happening in a show. What the show lacked in surprises, it made up for in misogyny and shit-talk against sex workers! Hoo-boy there was a lot of those. Jeff solved the mystery first, like he always does. He does look very good with his shiny hair and leather jacket. But it would be better if he wasn’t a cop!

Danya:

We had enough of a palate cleanser to come back to Law & Order, home of casual misogyny and sex-work stigma. This episode also had a fun PTSD twist, with some veterans who were very upset about things. I couldn’t tell all the white men with dark hair apart, or the white women with auburn hair, so mostly this was me asking Bekkah if the asshole rich guy was also the boyfriend guy, even though he had been murdered (spoiler #sorrynotsorry). Jeff was a cutie patootie though.

5/10 Smooth Criminals
