The Stand (1994) TV Movie

Bekkah:

This was another spooooooooky choice since it’s almost Halloween! This was episode 1 of a TV mini series based on The Stand by Stephen King. Danya has already read this so she knows what’s going to happen, but I didn’t! We did figure that this was going to be a Not Enough Jeff situation, since he is uncredited as the radio voice. We thought we’d only get a few moments of Jeff, but he was on there THREE times! He’s probably dead now (in the show), and we know he’s not coming back. He could have been better! But at least we had that voiceover. Anyway, this show is pretty good, but I am extremely happy that we are watching this now and not earlier in JGMC because a mini series about a botched response to a disease with martial law literally killing reporters while they are reporting is not what I was ready for in 2020. I’m barely ready for it now! But this is a good telling of a good story and I’m looking forward to watching the rest, even though there’s no more Jeff! Also, big thanks to the person on YouTube who put a really good quality version of this up!

Danya:

I wrote a very long and very interesting review, and then the internet ate it. So I will just say that there was not enough Jeff. Not nearly enough. I liked this book, and unsurprisingly, liked this mini series from the 90s. Rob Lowe is definitely high and has amazing 90s boy band hair, with the flipping bangs.

7/10 Germbooooos
