Into the Night (1985)

Bekkah:

This movie felt like a bunch of hollywood folks just felt like making a movie. I mean, who makes a movie with Jim Henson cameo’ing as a dude on the phone in the lobby? But also, HOW DID I NOT KNOW THERE WAS A MOVIE WITH JEFF AND DAVID BOWIE?! Two of my favorite entertainers sharing one silver screen! This movie was chaos. There was so much going on, but all I kept thinking was “How did Jeff Goldblum just totally abandon his wife completely?” I mean, she was not a good wife, but who just leaves in the middle of the night (to go to the airport, but instead have weird escapades instead)? This movie was kind of a mess, but I also enjoyed it. Not enough deep Vs, but David Bowie’s mustache more than makes up for that!

Danya:

This is the second Jeff movie we watched today on Xmas eve, so we have officially watched one Jeff movie for every week we’ve been in the pandemic (this is week 41). So, as movies go it is totally #fine. I like that Michelle Pfeiffer is really smart and also very demanding about her needs to stay alive. She fucks politeness, and I’m into it. Jeff was kinda along for the ride (in another brown corduroy blazer, but I prefer the leather ones) but also really disregards his commitments to his life and his wife. I also don’t understand what happened, and what all the motives were. In the end, it’s just about Michelle being a bad ass.

6/10 Godbums
