Zambezia (2012)

Bekkah:

The scenery in this movie was beautiful! The animals were… uncanny valley. It was a weird mix! I felt very confused while watching this movie. Two bottles of wine would have helped. It’s been a long time since I watched a children’s movie that really didn’t care about adults, but I suppose movies like that have a place. Jeff was a bumbling birb, which I guess I am generally OK with! I will say that I am now very curious about the real versions of these birbs!

Danya:

Was this movie lovely? Yes, it was. Was I maybe two glasses into a bottle of pinot? Yes, maybe actually 3. Did the wine significantly influence my enjoyment of this socialist fable? Oh most, definitely. I know Chris and Bekkah disliked the animation, but to me it was just brightly colored enough. The sexism was not as bad as expected, and I love an animal utopia. Plus 10 for the message that everyone belongs. BIRDS UNITE!
