"Resurrection" (2019) Happy! S2E10

Bekkah:

This was a refreshing, if violent, change of pace, after the last two weeks of a weird-ass 70s slow burn. I was here for the high production value and obviously I am here for Jeff as a cloud (god) because I fucking love clouds, okay? I also really liked Jeff’s/god’s take of god as an imaginary friend with too many people who believes in him. We watched this episode, which is the last episode (currently?) for this show, so possibly the season finale, without an context and… it was very confusing! But I feel like I got there in the end and we got to see Christopher Meloni’s bum, so that was also a big win for me. I am tempted to watch the rest of the show, but I think it’s gonna be too violent, so I’ll just leave it with this one Jeff episode!

Danya:

If you want to have a really absurdist experience, drop in on the finale of Happy! without knowing anything about what it is about. My best guess is that there was an evil drag queen easter bunny clown god, who a tiny talented child wanted to kill, and then also the tiny child’s parents, one of whom hallucinates a unicorn, played by patton oswald. It was very trippy. We all should have been high. Jeff really knows how to work a sunbeam, and looks great even in water vapor form. Will I go back and watch the rest of this? Probably because the pandemic JUST WON’T QUIT, so I still have too much time indoors. Huzzah to good outfits!
