Bekkah:

Oh my gosh, Glee! This show was so good and then instantly so bad. These espisodes are in the bad part (everything after season 1), but we FINALLY got some #JeffSoGay after almost 19 months of Jeff Goldblum Movie Club. I can’t believe it took this long, tbh! Anyway, Jeff obviously rocks that purple (not so deep) V and he was incredibly charming as one of the two Mr. Berrys, but Glee is just so bad. It’s full of main characters who are completely unsympathetic and these two episodes centered around high school students wanting to get married. I get that it’s TV and drama is what sells, but holy dang, why is everything so dramatic in high school? Literally how does anyone survive making at least four consecutive years of bad decisions? The only good decision here was putting Jeff in front of a piano.

Danya:

So, finally we get #Jeffsogay. This is the role he has dreamed of his whole life. Velvet blazer the color of the sea in a storm, show tunes, loving his daughter, and being the kind of gay that throws incredible dinner parties. Yay, Jeff. Did you remember that 2012 was rife with homophobia? Like apparently just dripping with it everywhere? You needed fabulous boots to jump over the puddles of transphobia mucking up both these episodes. Also, the second episode needed a huge content warning for me, someone literally does crisis counseling for suicidal people every day. This is not how suicide works. Depression also does not work like this. “Just staying positive” is not - I repeat- NOT an appropriate response to any of this. If you’re thinking of hurting yourself, call 911, go to your nearest emergency room or call the very nice folks at The Trevor Project. Do not watch glee.
