Fiddler’s Journey to the Big Screen (2022)

Bekkah:

This movie was truly delightful, despite director Norman Jewison not being Jewish and two small instances of sexism/fatphobia, but OTHERWISE this movie was a charmbomb documentary about a charmbomb of a movie narrated by the charmbomb himself, Jeff! I don’t watch a lot of documentaries, but this one gave me lots of happy feelings and I learned so much! I feel like Danya and I probably need a special Honorary Goldblum™ (???) viewing of Fiddler on the Roof since I haven’t seen it since maybe high school and now I know all of the back story! No dirt/gossip, because this movie was wholesome af.

Danya:

So the queen died today. I don’t know how that affects this movie, but thought I should mention it. I LOVE fiddler on the roof. As an actual full jewish person, I find it moving and I basically hum “if i were a rich man” all the time. But this doc really took me through some highs and lows. Norm Jewison is a GOY (spoiler). Which is pretty heart breaking in itself, but then he talks about getting married with Rabbi and under a chuppah and can I just say, no thank you to that. Convert already. But this doc was informative and I definitely hummed along probably more than Bekkah would have liked.

9/10 if I were a Jeff Goldblums
